FSA K-Force ATB Review

Full Speed Ahead has been producing excellent, high quality cycling components for many years. This global company have always managed to stay ahead of competitors and the FSA development team has once again produced a fantastic component in the FSA KForce ATB. This innovative crankset has been created with a monocoque design using 3rd generation carbon, only the spindle spline and pedal insert feature aluminium making the KForce ATB one of the only complete carbon cranksets available on today’s market. The arms of the crankset possess a completely hollow design, made using a removable bladder process, this innovative process used by FSA has ensured that the carbon is extremely compact creating the lowest amount of void areas possible. KForce ATB exclusive pioneering design and materials have created a crankset that is light whilst maintaining the optimum level of rigidity. It is the stiffness of this crankset which sets it apart from its rivals, with energy efficiently transferred between cyclists and road, the crankset truly improves a cyclist’s performance. Whilst the KForce ATB is very light it remains extremely strong and our testers agreed that it can withstand intensive use by heavier cyclists compared to other carbon cranksets. The Precision 100% CNC machined AL7075T6 chainrings have been pinned and ramped ensuring that they shift immaculately between ratios. No other carbon crankset shifts as accurately, quickly and smoothly as the KForce ATB. The MegaExo oversize ceramic ball bearings of the crankset are exceptionally smooth creating less friction whilst also making the KForce ATB very durable. While the 147mm Q-Factor guarantees a more comfortable pedalling position even after hours in the saddle. Our testers agreed that no other carbon crankset available on the market can compare to FSA KForce ATB. It offers ultimate performance enhancing features, is extremely light weighing in at 730 grams while its black anodised finish makes the KForce ATB look great.
